The HDF Group Appoints Two New Board Members

Jessica Popp of SendGrid and E.G. Nadhan of Red Hat join the HDF Group Board of Directors

The HDF Group is pleased to announce the appointments of Jessica Popp, Senior Director of Engineering at SendGrid and E.G. Nadhan, Chief Technology Strategist, Central Region, Red Hat to the HDF Group Board of Directors. In their new leadership roles, Jessica and Nadhan will help continue the transformation of HDF’s consulting-focused organization into a hybrid product and services company at the intersection of high-performance computing, big data, and science.

“I am pleased to welcome Jessica and Nadhan as new Board members,” said David Pearah, CEO and Chairman of the HDF Group. “We spent considerable time looking for those rare individuals who combine a deep understanding of the challenge and opportunity of creating a sustainable business around open source software. Jessica’s many years of leadership of Lustre (most recently at Intel) are from the very beginning as a Department of Energy project to the most commercially successful parallel file system. Similarly, Nadhan’s tenure at Red Hat affords not only a deep well of experience around successful commercialization of open source software, but also the challenge of diversifying beyond a single, well-known solution like RHEL.”

Nadhan and Jessica join the company at an important inflection point in its over 30-year history. The HDF Group has been undertaking an ambitious product development plan, culminating in the recent launch of Kita™ and Enterprise Support. In addition, the recent formation of the Technical Advisory Board—which includes thought leaders in technical software and high-performance computing—signals a strong move to encourage broader community participation in the HDF5® core.
