Release of HDF5 1.10.6 (Newsletter #170)
The HDF5-1.10.6 release is now available for download.
Why do we use HDF5? We moved to HDF5 for our simulation data in 2016 from using our own proprietary file format. HDF5 had been on our radar for some time and we spent a couple of years investigating it and other file formats before deciding which we should switch to. HDF5 met all the criteria we had at the time. Amongst the criteria were: performance in speed and size, an accepted standard for scientific data, being open source, providing additional tools.
The HDF5 1.10.5 release is now available for download. Read on for more information on changes in this new HDF5 version.
As part of our commitment to providing the Open Source community the latest core library available, the HDF5 1.10.4 release is now available for download.
Version 2.2.4 of the h4toh5 Conversion Library and Tools is now available from the HDF Support Portal.
Pre-release versions of both HDFView 3.0 and HDF5-1.10.3 are now available. We encourage users to try them and let us know if you encounter any issues or have any suggestions.
