Java Products Release 2.5
=========================

Release 2.5 of the Java Products for HDF 4.1r3 is now available.

Changes in this Release:
-----------------------

 * All bugs in our database were addressed.
 * The Java HDF Interface was upgraded:
      + The HDFArray class was extended to handle arrays of any class
        of 'Number', (i.e., 'Float' as well as 'float').

New Features in this Release:
----------------------------
 * Vdata attributes are now displayed similarly to SDS attributes.
   Attributes on Vdata fields are displayed in the Vdata attributes.




Terra Satellite Data Open to Public
===================================

NASA has announced that data from the new Terra satellite is now
available to the public.  This satellite is the "flagship" of a
series of satellites that will study long term global climate change.
The data products use HDF.

Terra is part of the Earth Observing System (EOS), which is the 
centerpiece of NASA's Earth Science Enterprise (ESE). For further
