Release of HDF 4.2.10 - Future Changes to Supported Compilers - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Release of HDF 4.2.10 ===================== The HDF 4.2.10 release is now available. It can be obtained from the HDF Downloads page: http://www.hdfgroup.org/downloads/index.html#hdf4 The HDF (HDF4) home page is located at: http://www.hdfgroup.org/products/hdf4/ HDF 4.2.10 is a minor release with a few new features and changes, including the following: o Support was added for Visual Studio 2012 with Intel Fortran 13 on Windows 7 and Windows 8. o Many changes and improvements to the configuration files were made, including: - The default C compiler for Macintosh platforms was changed to the Apple supported clang compiler. - The -Xc (strict ansi standard) option is no longer specified by default on Solaris. - A few changes were made to the CMake support. - Configuration files for old platforms were removed. This release contains other changes not listed here. Please be sure to refer to the HDF 4.2.10 Release Notes for a comprehensive list of new features and changes: http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF/HDF_Current/src/hdf-4.2.10-RELEASE.txt Future Changes to Supported Compilers ------------------------------------- Please be aware of the following changes to future releases of HDF4: o The HDF4 C library will be upgraded to the C99 standard. o The HDF4 Fortran library will only be tested and supported with Fortran 90 compilers.
