Here is a list of current activities by project members.

• HDF5-Friendly OPeNDAP Client Library

We are writing a HDF5-Friendly OPeNDAP Client Library in C/C++ that can work together with OPeNDAP HDF5 server seamlessly. Our goal is to support long variable names, compound data types, references and group structure. In addition, we'll include some APIs that can process HDF-EOS5 files served by OPeNDAP HDF5 server intelligently. Thus, the existing OPeNDAP visualization clients can benefit from using our new library. For example, our custom GrADS visualization tool linked with our library can display a vertical profile of swath data which is impossible with the current OPeNDAP netCDF client library. Our future plan is to release this prototype library to OPeNDAP community.

• HDF5-DAP2 Mapping Technical Note

We are writing a HDF5-DAP2 mapping technical note. We are going to submit this technical note to NASA Earth Science Data Systems Working Group(ESDSWG) Standards Process Group(SPG). It is under review and you can download it here.
