This demo is for testing OPeNDAP HDF5 handler which is still under active development. The OPeNDAP HDF5 handler can be configured in two ways --- with or without --enable-cf option. The benefit of using --enable-cf option allows users to view remote HDF5 data using CF-convention compliant OPeNDAP client visualization tools like IDV. However, turning on such option cannot support the HDF5 group information and the HDF5 data files with multiple grids or swaths that have multiple shared dimensions.

NASA Data
The demo data we're using are NASA AURA EOS data including MLS, OMI, HIRDLS and TES. Since these AURA data files are huge, please use DAP constraint expression when you test data retrieval.
Screenshot
A collection of screenshots from various OPeNDAP client visualization tools. Since most of them require CF-convention, you need to turn the --enable-cf option on inside the handler.
Movie
Ozone Layer on South Pole
The following movie demonstrates how HDF-EOS5 grid data can be visualized via HDF5-DAP data handler by DAP client IDV. The data is HDF-EOS5 AURA OMI Level 3 Grid data. It shows the ozone concentration level over the south pole from August 31, 2007 to November 9, 2007.
