This information is found in the Application Developer's Guide.
It consists of the API changes to the software in each release.
Old Release Files

This directory contains all of the release files for each HDF5 release
(since HDF5-1.2.0). They can be useful if you need to know when a problem
was fixed.
Release Files in Development Code

Release files for our development code can be found with the snapshots we
provide. It can be useful to check these, in case problems in the
current release are already fixed.
